This beautiful revitalization of an existing residence located in Petersham’s Heritage conservation area, was designed by ARQ Design Studio.
“The project seamlessly creates a transition between the old and the new, creating a beautiful family home that brings in natural light and natural surrounds”. Arq Design Studio
The rear half of the house was demolished to make way for a new contemporary kitchen, living and dining area on the ground floor, that flows out to a sunny courtyard and patio. A first-floor addition was added, which consists of a master bedroom, ensuite and walk in robe. Rooftop gardens were also included in the new addition to add that touch of greenery to this inner west home.
The existing part of the home was revived and consists of 3 bedrooms, a new bathroom, a laundry, and powder room. Timber floorboards were lay throughout, and a combination of steel and timber was also to create a staircase to transition from the existing house to the new first floor addition.
A beautiful combination of materials were used both internally and externally to connect an older Heritage Home to the new Contemporary addition.
